Trademark registration in Bahrain
Plan a Bahrain trademark with authorised representation, a precise goods list, the 60-day publication period and a maintenance calendar tied to the official record.

The short answer
What should you know before filing in Bahrain?
Bahrain's Industrial Property Directorate administers trademark registration through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. National protection should be considered separately from commercial registration and separately from trademark coverage in other Gulf markets. [1]
Prepare the overseas owner and local filing arrangements
MOIC states that non-resident foreign applicants must apply through authorised IP registration agents or law firms. Confirm the representative's status and the owner's instructions. An electronic login is an access mechanism, not evidence that a local trading partner should own the mark. [1]
Bahrain: decisions that shape your application
Bahrain has official electronic filing, publication and register-maintenance guidance. Use those resources to connect the initial filing decision with the later portfolio work.
| Your situation | What to decide | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| You are an overseas owner | Set representation before filing | Prepare the legal name, address, authorised signatory and the representative's requested authority documents. Keep an owner-approved instruction record and obtain official receipts. |
| Your brand spans goods and services | Review the specification by activity | Explain each distinct offering and provide the relevant artwork. Do not assume that the class heading alone captures the services of a shop, consultant or software platform. |
| You have a regional launch schedule | Separate business milestones from legal stages | Create individual entries for filing, publication, opposition monitoring and certificate review. A distributor launch date cannot be used as the completion date of an official trademark process. |

Planning example — not a client case
A consulting business also offers downloadable software under one brand. Prepare the consultancy services and downloadable product separately, together with the owner and any Arabic presentation. This helps the reviewer assess the intended specification without treating a broad 'technology' label as a finished filing instruction.
Prepare for a useful review
Prepare your Bahrain application brief
Use this practical preparation list to connect the official procedure with the information your filing professional will need.
- The overseas owner details and authorised Bahrain agent or law firm.
- The precise brand versions and concrete goods/services descriptions.
- Earlier filing records and the planned Bahrain launch.
- The person responsible for the 60-day publication stage and subsequent maintenance.
Planning example — not a client case
Brief example: for consulting services offered under a new logo, prepare a table with one row per offering and columns for the actual sign, intended owner, launch date and evidence already available. Attach the final artwork and list unresolved questions separately, so the reviewer can distinguish facts from assumptions.
Editorial preparation guidance added 9 September 2026. Individual requirements and any legal conclusion need professional review.
How much does trademark registration in Bahrain cost?
For the agreed mark, applicant, classes and filing route, the published all-in package covers the normal process through initial registration, including standard professional work and government application and registration fees, when there is no office action, refusal or opposition. Responses to objections or disputes, changes to the agreed scope and post-registration maintenance are quoted separately.
Published all-in filing prices
- 1 class
- $3,399
- 2 classes
- $6,498
- 3 classes
- $9,597
- 4+ classes
- Exact Quote
One trademark, one applicant, standard direct electronic filing; standard government filing fee included; country-specific standard item limits apply.
Review current pricing and scope →Standard package
Application preparation, goods and services wording, filing-quality review, approved electronic filing and standard completion through initial registration, within the agreed scope.
Separate when needed
Non-standard official fees, translations, notarisation, objections, opposition and later maintenance are outside the standard scope unless expressly included.
Use Trademarkora's current published quote for the agreed normal registration scope. The official sources describe government charges and procedural steps; do not add those charges to a package again without checking what is included. Extra classes, disputed proceedings, exceptional document work and later maintenance require their own scope. No amount on an old official form should replace the current quote.
From application to registration
- 1
1. Prepare a Bahrain-specific review
Collect the mark versions, owner details and concrete goods or services. Include potentially relevant earlier marks and explain the intended market use. A result from another country's register is not a Bahrain search.
- 2
- 3
3. Address examination correspondence
Have any conditions, objections or proposed restrictions explained before authorising a response. Record who is responsible for each deadline and keep the complete official message with the file.
- 4
4. Monitor the 60-day publication window
MOIC's trademark bulletin states that interested parties may object within sixty days of publication. Keep the actual bulletin entry and date. If opposed, obtain a case-specific response scope rather than assuming ordinary registration work includes contested proceedings. [4]
- 5
5. Check the registration record
Compare the final mark and specification with the filing instructions. Save the issued record, representative details and maintenance dates together; this is the reference file for later renewals and transactions.
Our service planning reference is 12–18 months for a straightforward application. This is not an official average or a deadline commitment. Document preparation, examination, objections or opposition can change the total time.
Prepare your application
This is our service-preparation checklist, confirmed 6 September 2026. It is separate from the official eligibility and procedural rules linked in this guide; requirements depend on the applicant and filing route.
Documents & details
- Trademark details, including the applicant’s name and address, the mark, and the goods or services.
- A scan of the business licence or personal ID.
- Power of attorney: signed, stamped, notarised and legalised, document.
- Provide a notarised and legalised business licence and its English translation.
Planning & records
- Filing acknowledgement estimate
- About 1 month
- Certificate format
- Electronic certificate
A filing acknowledgement is not a registration. Confirm the final checklist and schedule before approving a filing.
Plan the actual territory and filing route
Direct application
The direct route is a Bahrain national application through the Ministry's service. Bahrain registration should not be described as GCC-wide registration. [1]
International & neighbouring markets
Bahrain is a Madrid member. Eligible international filings can designate Bahrain, subject to the local protection decision. [6]
The published filing prices on this page describe the standard direct application scope. A different route, additional territory or unusual requirement needs its own scope confirmation.
Compare countries and registration routes →Keeping the registration in force
MOIC states that trademark protection runs for ten years from the application date, with renewal available during the last year of the protection period. Use the official record to calendar the next action. [1]
The Ministry's maintenance guidance describes renewal and registrable transactions, including ownership and representative changes. Obtain advice on the right transaction and evidence before treating a new company name or address as a simple website edit. [5]
Make sure the person receiving correspondence can still reach the owner. Store use evidence and licensing instructions separately from renewal receipts so a later dispute review has more than the certificate alone.
Keep the owner’s details, actual use records and renewal dates organised. A dispute or official notice needs its own review; it is not included automatically in a standard filing.
