What is the difference between no records and an unavailable source?
A completed search with no matching records is different from a source error or incomplete response. Neither an empty result nor missing source information establishes that a mark can be registered. Check the displayed source status and search scope before drawing conclusions.

The online search here covers China, the US, the UK and the EU. For another country, prepare your proposed mark, target country and a plain-language description of your goods or services for a . A country listed elsewhere on this site is not automatically covered by this search tool.

China trademark search: what to check before filing
- Select China in the search region field, then search the wording you plan to use. Select all four regions only if you want a broader search.
- Compare reasonable spelling and spacing variants. Consider any Chinese name and pinyin separately; an English-name search does not cover every Chinese version.
- Read relevant records alongside your actual goods or services. A class number alone does not settle the comparison.
- Check the record, dates and status. No results, a similar mark or an inactive label is not a decision on whether you can register.
